Millions of people around the world watching the World Cup will have seen the Olympic Stadium, shining since its re-construction in 2004. |
Working in cooperation with Licht Concept, Franz Sill GmbH developed a special fitting based on the Power Line 430... To effectively illuminate the football pitch for television, all of the fittings are equipped with 2000W metal halide lamps. Each fitting has a specially designed reflector, which has been adjusted to provide the maximum illuminance levels on the football pitch. Adjustments can be made without changing the fitting's mounting position, as can lamp replacement, ensuring the optimum aiming angle at all times. Two-thirds of the 155 twin fittings are fitted with a high voltage, "hot-restrike" ignitor.
Due to the special design of the stadium, all of the fittings are installed by pairs into the inner rim of the roof, the so called "Ring of Fire". There is no glare for the spectators because of the arrangement of the fittings combined with the precision geometry of the reflectors. The desired optical separation is the result of the contrast between field and grandstands. More information... (pdf 1.4kb)
